<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic waste sorting apparatus and its sorting method capable of efficiently sorting and recovering foamed bodies in the case a large quantity of foamed bodies are mixed in waste plastics. SOLUTION: A portion of a rotation body (3) rotating in one direction is slightly immersed under water surface of a water tank for sorting and water existing at least in the vicinity of the water surface in the water tank (1) is made to flow in the rotation direction of the rotation body (3). The rotation body has an adsorption face with a finely roughened surface for adsorbing crushed matter (13) of foamed bodies mixed in plastics-containing crushed materials (12, 13). When the foregoing plastics-containing crushed materials (12, 13) are chuted to the water tank for sorting, because of a significantly smaller bulk specific gravity than those of water and other crushed materials of plastics, the crushed material (13) of foamed bodies floats on the water surface of the water tank (1) for sorting and moves along the flow and is adsorbed and held in the adsorption face of the foregoing rotation body (3) and transported to the outside of the tank. During the transportation, the crushed material (13) of the foamed bodies is released from the adsorption face and recovered. On the other hand, the crushed materials (12) of other plastics are precipitated in water or floated in water. The floating materials are also recovered separately.</p> |
