PURPOSE: Control box structure of a front panel for an air conditioner is provided to make the best use of space of an indoor unit and to repair the indoor unit conveniently by fixing the control box in the front panel in an early assembly line, and to reinforce the structure by forming the wall of the control box corresponding to the gradient of the front cover. CONSTITUTION: A control box assembly for a front panel in an air conditioner is composed of an upper cover(20) of an indoor unit body(10); a suction grille panel(30); a front panel(40) settling a control unit panel(50), and closing the front by a curved front cover(45); and a control box(60) fixed in the front panel. The control box opens the front part with walls(61,62). The front of the control box is closed with the control unit panel and the curved front cover of the front panel. The control box and the control unit panel are covered with combining the curved front panel with the front panel. The use of the space in the indoor unit is maximized, and the weight is reduced with installing the control box assembly in the front panel. The indoor unit is replaced and repaired conveniently with separating the front cover from the front panel. The combination structure is reinforced with supporting the front cover by curved walls.
