PURPOSE: A piston mechanism for reducing friction loss by decreasing lateral force is provided to improve fuel efficiency and output of an engine by decreasing frictional force with distributing force. CONSTITUTION: A piston mechanism is composed of a piston(1), and piston rings(2,3,4) installed in ring grooves. The piston rings are inclined to the top of the piston, and mounted in land parts. Three piston rings are arranged parallel, and the height of the top land part is increased in the thrust portion of the piston and decreased in the anti-thrust portion. The lateral force of the piston is decreased with generating force by combustion pressure. The fuel efficiency and the output of an engine are improved with reducing lateral force and friction with distributing force.
