PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time required to start a disk playback from the designation of a desired slot by a key entry in a disk changer. SOLUTION: The disk changer is provided with a playback part 20, a discoid storage part 30, a housing groove 31 provided on the upper surface of the storage part 30, a transport part 40, an input part 71, a moving means, and a detecting means 100. The disk changer is further provided with a first control means to detect information on the presence or absence of a disk in a specified housing groove until the housing groove specified by the input part 71 arrives at a transport position when the information is not stored in a storage means, and a second control means to displace the housing groove which is located at a position nearest to the specified housing groove and houses the disk to the transport position when the disk is not housed in the specified housing groove.
