The drive motor (15) is installed in the bottom frame (12) of the table assembly and has two drums (16) for winding up wires. The two wires pass over multiple sheaves (17) on two shafts (19) to form a block and tackle assembly (18) which can operate a scissors lift (13). Cam edges (14) on the scissors members engage grooved rollers (22) on the ends of the shafts. As the shafts move toward each other, the scissors linkage lifts the top frame (12).
