PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a comfortable feeling when a quantity of solar radiation increases. SOLUTION: In this vehicular air conditioner whereby a solar radiation control value TS is determined by compensating the detected value of the quantity of solar radiation irradiated into the interior of a vehicle and an air- conditioned state is automatically controlled in the interior of the vehicle based on the solar radiation control value TS, when the quantity of solar radiation increases, the solar radiation control value TS is increased at a fixed rate of change, and when the quantity of solar radiation decreases, the solar radiation control value TS is decreased by carrying out an integral operation process with a prescribed time constant. Thereby, the solar radiation control value TS rapidly changes until the solar radiation control value TS becomes equal to the detected value of the quantity of the solar radiation after the quantity of solar radiation changes, since the solar radiation control value TS increases at the fixed rate of change when the quantity of solar radiation increases. Accordingly, control of solar radiation follows the increase of a feeling of warmness, the temperature and the quantity of air-conditioned air blown out are properly controlled, and a feeling of comfort can be obtained.
