PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soundness evaluation method and a soundness evaluation apparatus for evaluating hammering sounds, that are generated by the state itself of the inside of concrete so as to fully enhance the reliability of evaluation. SOLUTION: The soundness evaluation apparatus of concrete includes a hammering sound generation means 1 for generating hammering sounds by striking a concrete surface C, a hammering sound sampling means 2 for sampling generated hammering sounds, and a soundness evaluation means (notebook computer 3) for evaluating soundness is concrete based on the sampled hammering sound. The soundness evaluation means (notebook computer 3) obtains the average value of the strength of hammering sounds at an initial state in a transition phenomenon from the generation to the attenuation of hammering sounds, compares the obtained average value with a preset reference value, so that soundness in concrete is evaluated.
