PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steady brace device for a workpiece capable of stabilizing the steady brace of a workpiece W, and a machine tool provided with the steady brace device. SOLUTION: This steady brace device 9 for the workpiece is provided with an abutting member 20 abutting on an outer peripheral surface of the workpiece W rotated around a shaft and a supporting member 10 for supporting the abutting member 20. The abutting member 20 is floated and supported to the supporting member 10 via a floating means. The floating means is constituted by combining a projecting type spherical surface 24A provided on the abutting member 20 and a recessed type spherical surface 12A provided on the supporting member 10 and in slidable contact with the projecting type spherical surface 24A.
