PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cleaning a ceramic member by which substances depositing on the ceramic member during manufacturing or using the member can be effectively removed. SOLUTION: After a ceramic member is cleaned with an acidic chemical liquid and with an alkaline chemical liquid containing substantially no alkali metals or alkaline earth metals, and then is heat treated.
