PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily synthesizing a boron-based alkali metal salt at a high yield, to provide an alkali metal tetraalkylborate as a substance extremely useful for the production of the boron-based alkali metal salt, and a production method therefor. SOLUTION: The method for producing the boron-based alkali metal salt includes a first raw material preparation stage wherein a first raw material containing alkali metal tetraalkylborate is prepared, a second raw material preparation stage wherein a second raw material containing a ligand exchangeable with an alkoxy group in the alkali metal tetraalkylborate is prepared, and a synthesis stage wherein the alkoxy group in the alkali metal tetraalkylborate and the ligand are exchanged to synchesize the boron-based alkali metal salt.
