PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure and a method which cause no problem even under very severe conditions, eliminate light loss even in the case of bending upon occasion to about >=80 mmϕ, and so on by greatly improving the mechanical strength, heat resistance, etc., of an optical fiber. SOLUTION: Employed is a means which deposits metal on the core part of an optical fiber or coated optical fiber by a direct electroforming method and precisely controls the thickness and concentricity of the metal.
