PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to use a general purpose personal computer as a client computer by lessening the burden on the client computer, and to manage the authentication information of a server centrally. SOLUTION: A print Job is transmitted from a client PC 12 through a printer server 13 to a printer 14. Upon receiving the print Job, the printer inquires a data base server 15 about user information. The data base server retrieves an authentication information data base based on the user information and transmits relevant authentication information to the printer. The printer judges normality of the user information by collating it with the authentication information and performs printing based on the print data of the received print Job. |
