ROT/FUNGUS-PROOFING METHOD FOR WET PULP AND ROT/FUNGUS- PROOFING COMPOSITION THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rot/fungus-proofing method for wet pulp having long-term and stable rot/fungus-proofing effect through improving the homogeneous dispersibility of a water-insoluble rot/fungus-proofing compound added to a pulp slurry and the residence of the compound on the pulp, and to provide a rot/fungus-proofing composition to be used for the above method. SOLUTION: The rot/fungus-proofing method for wet pulp comprises adding a combination of the water-insoluble rot/fungus-proofing compound with a quaternary ammonium salt-type cationic surfactant to the pulp slurry in pulp manufacturing process. The rot/fungus-proofing composition to be used for the above method comprises the water-insoluble rot/fungus-proofing compound and the quaternary ammonium salt-type cationic surfactant.
