PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode cleaner that can clean a linear electrode without fail without detriment to the discharge treatment performance of a discharge treating section and does not produce wastewater. SOLUTION: The electrode cleaner 20 is one which cleans a linear electrode 10 of a vertical discharge treatment section 6 and is provided with a cleaning member 22 through which the electrode 10 is penetrated and which is vertically movable along the electrode 10, a hanging string 24 that hangs the member 22 from the upper part of the section 6 and a winder 26 that is provided outside the section 6 and vertically reciprocates the member 22 by winding and unwinding the string 24.
