PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent cutting of a vibration damping wire, concerning an imposing method of the vibration damping wire in an aperture grill of a shape of a cord fabric lattice, in a color sorting mechanism used for a cathode-ray tube, for example, TRINITRON (R) model. SOLUTION: The vibration damping wire imposing method in the aperture grill is constituted, while imposing by welding a vibration damping wire assembly B, which consists of an elastic support component and a vibration damping wire constructed horizontally in between the one end parts of the elastic support component, to the frame 7 of the aperture grill at the other ends, while pressing down the one end part of the elastic support component 5, and with stretching the vibration damping wire 4 to the aperture grill A, by releasing the pressing of the one end part of the elastic support component, after that. Furthermore, in the vibration damping wire imposing method in the aperture grill, the releasing of the one end of the above elastic support 5 is carried out by releasing, while controlling the releasing speed by a control means along the stretching direction of the vibration damping wire 4.
