PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear actuator with generating a less dust in which dust generation amount to the outside is reduced as low as possible by reducing pressure inside the linear actuator itself. SOLUTION: A movable loop of a seal band 6 is formed via respective pulleys 5 disposed at both axial ends of the inside of a housing 1, one end of the loop is fixed to one end of a carriage 3, the other end of the loop is fixed to the other end of the carriage 3, and an opening of a slit S opening in the housing is sealed with the seal band 3. Air vent pipes 8A and 8B are disposed as a means for sucking air in the housing 1, suction ports 8Aa and 8Ba are disposed near both axial ends of the housing 1, and dust generation to the outside due to air pressure increase at ends of the housing in high speed moving of the carriage 3 is suppressed.
