PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera module that can be made compact in size, and which has high focus accuracy. SOLUTION: The camera module is provided with a lens 11, a barrel 12 for supporting the lens 11, an image sensor chip 2 that uses a sensor section 21 for imaging on the basis of light made incident via the lens 11, and outputs an imaging signal, and a wiring board 5 having a window. The barrel 12 is fixed on a face of the wiring board 5. Then the image sensor chip 2 is fixed on the face opposite to a face on which the barrel 12 of the wiring board 5 is fixed, so that the sensor section 21 is placed at the window of the wiring board 5.
