PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a time necessary to decide an exposure value in a camera for contrast light compensated meter by using a multipoint auto-focusing image sensor. SOLUTION: Until it is decided that the outputs of all the photoelectric conversion means have proper values to calculate a photometric value, the photoelectric conversion is repeated by several photoelectric conversion means without calculating a focusing state by a focus detecting/calculating means. Then, in the case of the contrast light compensated meter by using a plurality of multipoint auto-focusing photoelectric conversion means, the time necessary to decide the exposure value after starting the focus detection is shortened than that in a conventional camera. |
