Method for continuous monitoring of sound emissions (L) for a measurement location, whereby from the continuously delivered sound level signal, one value is selected from two sequential time intervals. The values selected can be either a maximum or minimum sound value during the two time intervals. The sampling frequency is less than 1 second, while time intervals can between 1 and 30 minutes.
