APPARATUS FOR CLEANING EDGE OF CASTING ROLLS OF TWIN ROLL STRIP CASTER

PURPOSE: An apparatus for cleaning the edge of casting rolls of a twin roll strip caster is provided to increase actual yield of slab and produce slab of higher quality by automatically cleaning dust adhered onto the edge of the rolls for directly manufacturing molten steel into strip. CONSTITUTION: In a casting rolls(10) of a twin roll strip caster, the apparatus for cleaning the edge of the casting rolls of the twin roll strip caster comprises a frame(20) which is horizontally mounted on a housing(12) of the casting rolls(10); a driving means(30) which is back and forth movably installed on the frame(20); and a roll edge cleaning means(40) which is rotationally installed in front of a moving plate(42) that is integrally fixed to the upper part of the driving means(30) and closely adhered to the edge(14) of the rolls during driving of the driving means(30) to remove dust, wherein the driving means(30) is formed as an air cylinder, rods(30a,30b) of both sides of the air cylinder are fixed to front and rear sides of the frame(20), cylinder body(32) is moved back and forth along the rods fixed when injecting air into the cylinder(30), and the roll edge cleaning means(40) comprises a brush roll which is rotationally installed between support blocks(44) that are fixed to be directed to the front side of the moving plate(42) so that the roll edge cleaning means(40) is proceeded during operation of the driving means(30), thereby cleans the roll edge(14) as being closely adhered to the roll edge(14).
