PURPOSE: A system and a method for simulating a flexible object and a recording medium storing a program source are provided to represent the motion of a flexible object such as hairs naturally and realistically. CONSTITUTION: A system for simulating a flexible object includes a simulating apparatus(120). The simulating apparatus sets a plurality of representative objects and at least one two-dimensional or three-dimensional group object having a central axis composed of multiple articulates to support modeling of the flexible object, and obtains a position where the representative objects and group object are deformed by a support that supports the flexible object and external force. Then, the simulating apparatus judges if the support, an external object, or a user collides with a designated group object to correct the collision position and visualizes the position. |
