PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive optical communication system based on a USB protocol and its controlling method. SOLUTION: Original one-bit data are converted into an optical signal of a 2-bit data pair to be transmitted at a transfer rate being two times as fast as a USB transfer rate in the order of D+ and D- signals or in a reverse order. Thus, an SE0 period (period when both D+ and D- are at a low level) can also be replaced by an optical signal to make it possible to perform optical communication based on the USB protocol. |
