Construction system for producing artificial waterways comprises at least one stream shell (1) having a channel-like cross-section preferably made of plastic with uniform wall thickness arranged in an overlapping, roof shingle manner in a row by upstream or downstream overlapping regions (3, 4). The stream shell is provided on its upstream or downstream overlapping region with a transverse bulge (6, 7) at least partly closing the channel-like cross-section. The upstream and downstream bulges are designed to complement each other in an overlapping manner. Preferred Features: The wall (8) of the stream shell in the upstream overlapping region preferably begins with a right-angle protrusion (9). Additional especially elastic or plastic sealing or adhesive agents are arranged in the overlapping regions.
