PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a counterflow of a carrier gas and efficiently feed powder and granular material. SOLUTION: A low-level sensor 11 detecting the quantity of the powder and granular material in a second chamber 6 is provided, when a low-level state is not detected, a first feeder 3 is operated with an opening/closing valve 5 closed, the powder material in a hopper 2 is picked, a prescribed quantity of the powder material is fed to the first chamber, and stopped, and when the low-level state is not detected then, the opening/closing valve 5 is instantaneously opened with the first feeder 3 stopped, and the powder material in the first chamber 4 is fed to the second chamber 6. The second feeder 7 is operated as necessary and the prescribed quantity of the powder material in the second chamber 6 is picked and sent to the outside.
