PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diaphragm type air pump with a means for preventing a movable element from being brought into contact with the inner face of a magnetic pole of a fixing element due to the abnormal vibration, etc., a means for easily replacing a diaphragm, and a means for detecting the damage of the diaphragm. SOLUTION: In the diaphragm type air pump, two electromagnetic coils 5 and 5' are disposed inside a yoke whose vertical section is nearly in the E-shape on the plane including a shaft 1 so that the same poles are generated opposite from each other. The drive source of the air pump is an electromagnetic reciprocating drive device in which a movable element 4 with a permanent magnet 3 magnetized in the axial direction and a movable element magnetic pole piece 2 adjacent to the permanent magnet is formed in such a way that the movable element can reciprocate in the axial direction. Further, a resin member 20 whose diameter is smaller than the inner diameter of a fixing element magnetic pole piece 7 and larger than the outer diameter of the movable element magnetic pole piece 2 is disposed between the fixing element magnetic pole pieces 7. |
