The system includes a terminal (mobile telephone) connected to a computer (server) via a telecommunications network. For access to the server, a user ID must be registered. An identification device can be pre-configured in the computer or in the terminal for registration of different user IDs via the same terminal. Each individual user registers his ID himself. The identification device may be a subscriber identity module (SIM). An Independent claim is also included for a method of operating the system.
