<p>A cutting tool for materials, which is manually, programmed or robot controlled, consists of a cutting head (10) with a blade (35), a blade holder (30), and a drive unit (20) which creates a pulsating cutting motion. The tool has a cutting depth detection unit (80) with a light source (81) for a high intensity light beam, and a sensor (85). The horizontal motion and the blade depth are controlled by measuring the intensity of the light leaving the material near the cut. The light source is e.g. a laser source, and is located on the cutting tool so it can be directed into the cut. The tool has a drive motor (21) with a drive shaft (22), a cam plate, connecting rods, and a coupling member.</p> |
