PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an element, etc., for detecting organic molecules by which the working efficiency can be improved and an organic molecule detecting device can be reduced in size and simplified in constitution. SOLUTION: On the main surface of a semiconductor substrate 11, insulating films 12 and 13 are formed. The films 12 and 13 have an organic molecule fixing area 19. The substrate 11 has a pair of electrode areas 21 and 22 arranged on both sides of the main face-side prescribed area 11a corresponding to the fixing area 19. In the prescribed area 11a of the substrate 11, a current route is formed in accordance with the electric charge of fixed organic molecules when the molecules are fixed to at least the fixing area 19.
