SYSTEM FOR PROCESSING MAC OF POD MODULE FOR DIGITAL CABLE BROADCAST, METHOD FOR DRIVING THE SAME AND MAC PROCESSING METHOD

PURPOSE: A system for processing MAC of POD module for digital cable broadcast, a method for driving the system and a MAC processing method are provided to process MPEG-2 TS and various MAC messages. CONSTITUTION: An MPEG-2 TS processor(410) analyzes MPEG-2 TS packet data received from a physical layer processor to extract MAC packets. A MAC header parser(420) receives the MAC packets of the MPEG-2 TS processor, analyzes the header to divide the header interactive data and MAC messages and outputs the interactive data to CAS module. A MAC message processor(450) receives the MAC messages from the MAC header parser to process various messages and generates a response signal. A MAC message generator(470) receives the MAC messages processed by the MAC message processor to generate a processing message and a response message with respect to the MAC messages, transmits the processing message to the CAC module and sends the response message to the physical layer processor.
