<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate carbon dioxide efficiently and inexpensively. SOLUTION: Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide in a gas are separated and immobilized as a form of a carbonate in a cathode 12 side by bringing a sodium ion source material into contact with an anode side of a solid electrolyte 10 provided with an anode 11 and the cathode 12, bringing the gas containing carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide into contact with the cathode 12 side of the solid electrolyte 10 and applying DC voltage between both electrodes from a DC power source 13. The sodium ion source material is an aqueous solution of sodium carbonate, hydrogen sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide or sodium chloride. The aqueous solution of the carbonate produced in the cathode 12 side is supplied to the anode 11 side as the sodium ion source material.</p> |
