PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for manufacturing a thin membrane sheet capable of lowering wrinkles, deformations or the like since the thin membrane sheet commands uniform bending strength as a whole. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing the thin membrane sheet characterized by the feature that by using rotational shafts 6, 7 which form a projecting portion 5 spirally composed of an elastic body, the projecting portion 5 of the rotational shafts 6, 7 is pressed, while revolving, on the surface of the thin membrane sheet 2 and at the same time, the thin membrane sheet 2 is flattened by sliding to the length direction of the thin membrane sheet 2.
