WIRELESS WATER SUPPLY METER WITH EXTREMELY LOW POWER CONSUMPTION

PURPOSE: A wireless water supply meter with extremely low power consumption and a method of the same are provided, which is designed to be used in a real field by reducing power consumption during meter reading or standby. CONSTITUTION: A sensor(22) senses a rotation of a wheel and generates a corresponding electric pulse when a wheel inside of a water supply meter is rotated according to the flow of a fluid. A pulse counter(242) counts the pulse from the sensor(22). A timer(243) generates a clock signal indicating a reference time. The first controller(244) performs a reading control operation according to a set meter reading schedule and discriminates whether a control mode is a receiving standby mode or a sleep mode based on the clock signal from the timer(243). An RF interface device(246) transmits an accumulated reading data to an RF device for a handy terminal when the control mode is the receiving standby mode.
