PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery having a structural feature that the safety of the battery is further improved for a temperature increase in the battery caused by an excess charge and the like. SOLUTION: The lithium secondary battery comprises a battery case 9 containing an internal electrode body 1 formed by winding a positive electrode and a negative electrode around the outer periphery wall of a winding core 7, where a separator is interposed between both electrodes, and a nonaqueous electrolyte solution. The lithium secondary battery is further provided with a bypass mechanism for automatically passing a current through a prescribed bypass current passage when the internal temperature of the secondary battery goes up to exceed a preset temperature. |
