<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor that can reduce adverse effects on a mosquito distortion reduction filter given on a block border. SOLUTION: The image processor uses an in-block filter application discriminating means 6 and an in-block flat portion detection means 7, to respectively obtain an in-block filter application flag and an in-block flat portion pattern and allows an in-block pixel filter means 10, so as to recognize a block conducted by in-block filter processing and block border flat pixels, whose values are possibly fluctuated by the filter processing. The image processor uses an inter-pixel difference coding calculation means 4 to obtain a code of a difference between the block border flat portion pixels and pixels adjacent to the block border flat portion pixels, so as to inspect in advance, whether or not the block border pixels by the in-block filter processing can take pixel values for increasing the inter-pixel difference at the block border more than that of the original image, thereby deciding the processing applied to the border pixels.</p> |
