PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a V-type engine, capable of enhancing flexibility of layout design relative to other components at the side of an engine body, reducing the working man-hours of the mounting part at the engine body side and also reducing the assembling man-hours for assembling a guide member and a tensioner to the engine body side. SOLUTION: A guide member 18 and a tensioner 21 are arranged, in such a manner that respective lower ends 18A and 21A overlap with each other, as viewed from the axial direction of a crankshaft 12. A support shaft 23, having its shaft center parallel to the crankshaft 12, is formed in the region where the above lower ends overlap, and the tensioner 21 is turnalby mounted about the support shaft 23.
