PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spot light source device that can be operated stably without a drop in an amount of output light even when used for a long period of time. SOLUTION: This spot light source device is provided with an inert gas inlet 14 in a prescribed position of the front 1a of a housing 1 and is so composed that an inert gas feeding means such as a cylinder 8 connected to an piping 9 and an inert gas spraying means 10 so as to communicate through via the inlet 14. The inert gas is sprayed on a light incident part of a light guide 7 with the spraying means 10. Thereby, even when high energy light that is radiated out of a discharge tube 2 and condensed by a condensing means is radiated on the light incident part for a long period of time, the spot light source device that can be operated stably without a drop in an amount of light at an emerging opening 12 is obtained. |
