PORTABLE TRAIN POSITION TRACKING DEVICE USING GIS AND DIFFERENTIAL GPS

PURPOSE: A portable train position tracking device is provided to allow users to recognize position and path of the train in an easy and accurate manner. CONSTITUTION: A portable train position tracking device comprises a data collector for storing a train information and a track information to a compact flash memory; a transmitter combined with a global positioning system using a satellite, and which compares information regarding the current position of the train with a train's path to advance, corrects error and transmits train data at a predetermined time interval through a radio system; and a portable receiver including a KBD for management of the receiver, an LCD, a global positioning system for obtaining information regarding the current position of the train, a receiver for receiving data stored in a receiver CF and the information transmitted from the neighbor train, a controller, and an alarm operating when the train is near.
