A holder for a disk-shaped data carrier comprising a rectangular case and a carrier for the data carrier, which carrier can be moved in a direction of movement with regard to the case through an opening on the front of the case between a closed position where the data carrier is completely inside the case and an open position where the data carrier is at least partly outside the case for the removal of the data carrier from the carrier.
