PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding device for forming a projecting strip section having a prescribed size while reducing the force to be applied to a container. SOLUTION: The molding device capable of forming the projecting strip section projecting in the peripheral direction of the side wall 2a of the container 2 has mold embossing mechanisms 40A, 40B which are provided with a holding member 20 rotatable around the center line of the container 2 while holding the container 2 from its inner side, a rotary drive mechanism 30 for rotary- driving the holding member 20, mold pressing rollers 46A, 46B which are disposed at a side of the holding member 20 and are capable of rotating around the axial line in parallel with the center line of the container 2, and an air cylinder 42 which moves the mold embossing rollers 46A, 46B reciprocatingly in the radial direction of the container 2. The outer periphery of the mold pressing rollers 46A, 46B is provided with grooved parts 46a, 46b forming the protruded side of the projecting strip sections, while holding member 20 is provided with protrusions 26a, 26b forming the recessed side of the projecting strip sections by matching the protrusions 26a, 26b to the grooved parts 46a, 46b and to the center line.
