<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for water treatment with a biofilm on level- variable, floating carriers. SOLUTION: This method is to form a biological membrane filter layer of sticking microorganisms on floating carriers that arrange their own positions by the alternative action of buoyance and gravity, and selects either or both of trickling filtlation method and catalytic oxidation, and further moves the floating carriers upward and downward by adjusting the water level in the reaction tank, thereby turbulance is caused to attached matter during the movement which creates movement in mutual positions, by which the biofilm and slime are removed from the carriers, which solves the problems. Thus, the present invention gives a way to overcome existing restrictions for applications of catalytic biofilms, and difficulty for increasing the depth of such a system, and gives many advantages.</p> |
