PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink set which stably satisfies requirements such as the inhibition of a feathering or bleeding phenomenon, high fixing properties and color tone, at a higher level than is presently applicable, even when an image is formed on various commercial grade papers and also an imaging method using the ink set. SOLUTION: In the ink set obtained by combining a recording performance improver solution for improving the recording performance of an ink jet ink with the ink jet ink for forming an image on a medium into which image data are recorded by an ink jet recording process, the recording performance improver solution contains at least cationic fine resin particles and the ink jet ink contains an organic pigment as a coloring agent. Further, the ink set shows that a difference between the ζ potential of the recording performance improver solution and the ζ potential of the ink jet ink is not less than 30 mV. Also the imaging method using the ink is provided. |
