PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, especially an electronic still camera with an authentication function for using a personal ID and password, by which a user permits photographing even when the authentication executed after application of power is not finished and records the photographed image to a recording medium after the authentication so as to photograph an object without missing a shutter chance. SOLUTION: When a photographing operation is made while the camera authenticates and identifies ID information of a user, the photographing is started according to the photographing operation to generate image data, the generated image data are temporarily stored, the photographing data temporarily stored are stored in a recording medium according to the result of authentication and identification, an imaging means is driven when the authentication is not completed, a 1st recording medium means temporarily stores the photographing image data and the authentication is executed when a 2nd recording medium stores the photocoupler image data. |
