PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character retrieval device and method, its program and a recording medium with the program recorded thereon with enable a user to specify characters easily. SOLUTION: A character component specifying means 11 specifies the component of the character included in a character logical expression inputted from a character logical expression input means 10 and substitutes this to the character logical expression to create a component logical expression. A component logical expression arithmetic means 12 calculates the created component logical expression, and a corresponding character specifying means 13 specifies a corresponding character by referring to a character component database 15 by using the set of the component obtained as the arithmetic result as a retrieval condition. In the character component database 15, components obtained by dividing characters are stored. |
