PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily inform the user of the position of the opposite party of telephonic communication without using a map, thus letting both parties of telephonic communication know the positions of the opposite parties with each other, in a portable telephone device which is hard of using a map. SOLUTION: This portable telephone device is equipped with a GPS communication part 16 which detects the position of its own device, a telephone communication part which receives the positional information of the device of opposite party in telephonic communication, a display 14, an azimuth sensor 18 which detects the azimuth, and a control circuit 11. The circuit 11 computes the direction of the device of the opposite party in telephonic communication from its own device, based on the position of its own device detected by the GPS communication device 16 and the positional information of the device of the opposite party in telephonic communication received by the telephonic communication means 1, and conforms the direction of the above device of the opposite party in telephonic communication to the azimuth detected by the above azimuth sensor 18 and displays it on a display 14.
