PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording condition setting method capable of setting proper recording conditions (recording waveform parameters) for an optical disk having a plurality of recording layers. SOLUTION: The method used for an optical disk device having a plurality of recording layers on which recording/reproducing is carried out by irradiation with a light beam from one surface includes the steps of sequentially selecting recording layers farthest from the incident surface of the light beam (ST1), trial-writing data in the trial-writing areas of the selected recording layers and reproducing the trial-written data (ST3), and setting a recording waveform parameter (ST4). |
