PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and inexpensive digital camera for monitoring capable of making a monitoring time longer than a conventional manner with low power consumption, and reducing any probability that failures are generated. SOLUTION: This digital camera for monitoring is provided with an imaging device 2 for imaging an image in a monitoring area, an image processing part 3 for detecting the change of the image data imaged by the imaging device 2, and a control unit 4 for recording the image data in a recording medium 5 when the change of the image data is detected by the image processing part 3. Also, processing for calculating a difference between the time average of the luminance of the image data and the luminance of the image data to be successively imaged by the imaging device 2, and for detecting the change of the image data is adopted as concrete processing to be executed by the image processing part 3. |
