PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analog/digital converter for utilizing a pulse delay circuit to convert an input voltage into numerical data that attains high resolution of analog/digital conversion or high-speed processing. SOLUTION: The analog/digital converter provided with an analog/digital conversion section 20 that receives a voltage signal Vin1 resulting form amplifying/voltage-shifting an input voltage Vin to drive a plurality of delay units configuring the pulse delay circuit 10 and uses number of stages of delay units 2 through which a pulse signal passes within a prescribed sampling period TS for an analog/digital conversion value of the input voltage Vin, is separately provided with a pulse delay circuit 30. The pulse delay circuit 30 receives a voltage signal Vin2 resulting from inversely amplifying/voltage-shifting the input voltage Vin to drive delay units of the pulse delay circuit 30 and a logic section 40 outputs a sampling signal CKS to the analog/digital conversion section 20 every time number of the delay units, through which the pulse signal passes, reaches a prescribed value depending on a setting value NB. As a result, the sampling period TS changes with the input voltage Vin and the resolution for analog/digital conversion can be enhanced.
