PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to mount a lighting fixture on an elevation part by sending it down, prior to electricity can be passed through an electric wiring, immediately after an elevating device body and the elevating part are fitted to the ceiling. SOLUTION: After mounting of an elevating device body 1 and an elevating part 2 is finished, a rotating shaft of a direct-current motor 3 is made to be rotated easily by an external force, by operating a short-circuit releasing switch to put to an off-state a short circuit for shorting between terminals of the direct-current motor 3; so that by rotating the rotating shaft with the coupling of an external-force receiving part 21 fitted to the rotating shaft with a tool for furnishing external force, for instance, an electric screwdriver, an electric wrench or the like; a drum 4 is made to rotate integrally with the rotating shaft to wind up and wind off wire ropes 7 wound around the drum 4, whereby the elevating part 2 coupled with the wire ropes 7 is lifted vertically.
