PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double sided image reader with which the optical interference on reading means arranged on both sides of a feed guide for simultaneously reading both the sides of an original can be prevented. SOLUTION: Black paints 121 and 122 are applied respectively on end faces confronting first contact glass 21 and second contact glass parallel located in the feed direction of the original, of the first contact glass 21 and the second contact glass 22. Therefore, light with which the original is irradiated, from a first reading part 20 located on the downside of the first contact glass 21 for reading one front surface of the original fed along with the first contact glass 21 and a second reading part 30 located on the upside of the second contact glass 22 for reading the other surface of the original fed along with the second contact glass 22 does not invade the other reading part arranged on the other side sandwiching the first contact glass 21 and the second contact glass 22, and optical interference can be prevented.
