An adjusting apparatus for adjusting an optical pickup capable of recording/reproducing different types of optical discs. An optical disc (1) for adjustment has a first signal recording layer (5) having a physical format common to a CD and a second signal recording layer (7) having a physical format common to a DVD. On the first and the second signal recording layer, EFM−modulated data is recorded coaxially. Recording areas (8, 9) of the signal recording layers are arranged so as not to be overlapped.
